SUCCESS – SUccessful Caregiver Communication and Everyday Situation Support in dementia care

This project seeks to establish alternative strength and capacity supporting approaches grounded on the principle that opinions of PwD should be acknowledged, respected, heard and addressed. Dementia impairs the behaviour and communication abilities of persons with dementia (PwD), and is severe enough to interfere with social and occupational functioning. Both formal and informal providers of care need to learn about the connection between brain and behaviour and interventions that can address these respective responsive behaviours. There is a need for an innovative, autonomously usable and continuous training concept that also supports the carer’s emotional well being of both formal and informal providers of dementia care.
