Exams autumn 2012
To all lecturers of courses this semester
Compulsory assignments must be registered in Devilry 14 days prior to the exam date.
Oral exams must be held from week 48 to week 51. We kindly ask you to give us the following information as soon as possible:
- Date of exam - preferably one date
- Time of start and end for the exam, including breaks and if compulsary attendance. If you prefer compulsary attendance on the day of the exam (for instance at 8 AM), please remember to inform all students! Compulsary attendance could be a good thing to do regarding adjustments of time schedule in case someone doesn't show up.
- Name, address, work place, telephone number and e-mail address of the external examiner
- The names of all examinators
After receiving your suggestion of exam date I will come back to you and confirm the date or not.
Send the information to firstname.lastname@example.org
You find the date of the exam at the semester page under Exams.
Exam texts must be delivered to the study administration at the Faculty (Physics building, 3rd floor) within 10 days prior to the exam. Attachments must be printed out and stapled together with the exam. Put it in the manuscript so that there will be no doubt about what is part of the exam.
You can deliver the exam texts electronically (pdf files) to Mr. John Sundby at the Faculty. If you choose to send it by email, you must remember to contact Mr. Sundby in advance, to hear if he will be able to receive the email. The exam text will then be printed out, and email and attachments will be deleated immediately. You can reach him at phone number 22 85 67 09, and on this email address: email@example.com
If the Faculty does not receive the exam text in time, we have to copy and distribute the texts to the different exam locations at the day of the exam. Thus it is important that we keep this deadline.
Languages (in addition to Norwegian- bokmål)
|These courses must make an English version||These courses must make an "nynorsk" version|
If the lectures were held in English and the curriculum is in English, the exam text shall only be produced in English.
Rating of the exam problems
The Faculty wants you to write down on page 1 the rating of the different parts of the exam. If all the different tasks must be passed in order to pass the exam, this has to be mentioned on page 1 of the exam text.
In subjects where the text book is allowed to be used at the exam, then the book title, author and publishing year must be mentioned in the exam text.
Visiting the exam location
The lecturer must visit the exam location approximately 30 minutes after the exam started. If there are many candidates it could be convenient to have several lecturers.
The place of the exam will be found on the semester page.
Picking up exams
The last semesters the exam papers have been brought to IFI. Lectures are responsible of picking up all the written answers. This is very important because we have to have the results by the deadline which is 3 weeks after the exam date. We must therefore avoid that any exam answers are not picked up.
Specially for exams which offer postponed exam for candidates who withdraw during exam or who fail the exam:
Deadline for reporting the exam results is Wednesday 2 January, and this means that some subects with late exam dates will have less than three weeks to report the results to us.
For other exams the deadline for reporting the results is 3 weeks after the exam.
Please note: lecturers can't pick out some of the exam papers in order to give us some results earlier, as this makes disorder in our system.
Please find external examiners already at this point and ask how many exams they wish to correct. I need name, address, work place, telephone number and email address. I need this information as soon as possible.
Remind the students to withdraw from subjects/exams they know they will not show up at. Latest date is 2 weeks before the exam.
The attached document shows how many students who have signed up for exam.
Best of luck!
