Intermediate SPSS

Suited for anyone who has used SPSS a little already, but would like to learn more advanced techniques. The course is two times three hours, and lasts for two half days.

Part 1: Tuesday 8. October 9:15 - 12:00

Part 2: Wednesday 9. October 9:15 - 12:00

Purpose

Learn how to use SPSS to run the most common statistical tests used for hypothesis testing. The course builds upon the material covered in the Introduction to SPSS.

Target audience

Researchers and grad students who wish to improve their skills in SPSS. It is assumed that all participants have some experience with SPSS. Basic knowledge of research methods and statistics is an advantage, but not a requirement.

3+3 hours.

In order to participate in this course, you need to have a valid user account at the University of Oslo (username and password). Sign up here!

Important: participants need to have their own laptop with SPSS installed. The course is taught in a regular seminar room, not a computer lab. It is recommended  that you bring a power cord for your own device. If you are affiliated with the University of Oslo, the latest edition of SPSS can be downloaded from winprog.uio.no or macprog.uio.no. If you need help installing SPSS, contact local IT in your department.
