Oslo is celebrating being the European Green Capital in 2019. To invest this opportunity back into the city, CityStudio Oslo was established as a key initiative between UiO and the City of Oslo.
CityStudio Oslo is a full-time course where students across academic institutions and the City of Oslo will collaborate on sustainability challenges in Oslo. Students will work in interdisciplinary teams to construct and execute a project that will help Oslo overcome environmental challenges and create better living conditions for its inhabitants.
CityStudio Oslo is based on a model developed by CityStudio Vancouver. Since 2011 CityStudio Vancouver has generated over 700 experimental projects which have contributed to making Vancouver one of the best cities in the world to live in. Oslo is joining an international network of CityStudios and is the first in Europe.
This video, A semester at CityStudio Vancouver, gives you a short insight into how CityStudio works. For more information about CityStudio Vancouver and to see some of the previous student projects, we recommend visiting the CityStudio Vancouver website.
