Faglige interesser

Jeg er interessert i hvordan vi fordypper oss i musikk og hva dette gjør med bevisstheten vår. Jeg gjør derfor dybdeintervjuer og fysiologiske undersøkelser av de beste utøverene innen klassisk musikk og jazz. Forskningen har et filosofisk og fenomenologisk utgangspunkt, siden erfaringer med forankring i musikalsk fordypelse essensielt er erfaringer av endrede oppfattelser av selv og bevissthet. For å forstå denne fordypelsen trenger vi derfor en sterk teori på hva det betyr å være et jeg, hva det betyr å være ansvarlig for egne handlinger og hva det betyr å gi slipp på kontrollen men likevel mestre sitt instrument. Jeg undersøker disse spørsmålene gjennom mine intervjuer og kvantitativ data fra fenomenolog, enaktivisme, kroppsbasert kognisjon, sosial ontologi, musikk psykologi og ekspertise teorier. Andre felt som opptar meg er estetikk-fenomenologi, psykopatologi og forskning på drømmer og søvn som potensielt kan opplyse den musikalske fordypelses fenomenologien.

Bakgrunn

BA i Liberal Arts from Soka University of America (2008), en MA i Philosophy fra University of Liverpool (2009), en MA i Philosophy spesialisert i fenomenologi og filosopi av tankesett fra  University of Copenhagen (2012) og en PhD om "The Phenomenology of Expert Musicianship" fra Center for Subjectivity Research, University of Copenhagen (2015). Jeg har de siste årene holdt eksterne forelesninger ved University of Southern Denmark, samt holdt post doctor stillinger ved the Interactive Minds Centre, University of Aarhus og the Department of Psychology, University of Copenhagen.
