Compulsory exercise 2: Stellar spectra. B: LTE line formation. IDL procedures and data files can be found here (links in ssb.pdf are outdated). Deadline for handing in the report: Friday Nov. 13, 2015. The report should focus on the figures with captions. More instructions can be found here.

The midterm exam will cover Chapters 1-5 in Rutten, problems chapters 1-5 (if you have not received the solutions contact me, list of most important exercises can be found in the teaching schedule), and the numerical exercise SSA (slides covering the main points can be found here). During the exam, only the use of a calculator is permitted.
