The lectures on Memory Management (31/3-2020), Disks (14/4-2020), and File Systems (15/4-2020) are now available under timeplan.
The Dean and Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences have posted a blogg (in Norwegian) that gives some explanations for changing the grading this term:
Due to the current Covid-19 situation the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences has decided for all examinations that the grading will be passed / not passed (and not on the A - F scale):
https://www.mn.uio.no/english/about/hse/corona/examination-2020.html
This will also be done for this course.
Your TAs have created for the groups each a recurring meeting on Zoom (for the scheduled teaching hours of the three groups):
Group 1 meeting ID: 426-942-581
Group 2 meeting ID: 577 575 485
Group 3 meeting ID: 871 461 683
The Memory Management lecture is now available on-line (in the usual way under timeplan) as 2 parts (31/3-20 and 1/4/20) and the handouts for the entire lecture are available under 31/3-2020.
The last 2 lectures (disks and file systems) will be recorded in the next days.

The schedule for the remaining project deadlines is updated in the lecture schedule. Project P6-A will have deadline on May 19th and P6-B on June 2nd.
It is still unclear how all teaching at UiO will be organised, but to give all students in the course a clear picture of the plans for P3b we have done the following by now:
The deadline for P3b is set now to March 24th 12:00.
We do not require that P3b is running on HW (since this might imply physical access to the machines in Modula), but request instead that the solution is running in Bochs.
You can find a guide how to set-up sshfs to UiO machines and how to use than Bochs on these machine from home at https://github.uio.no/siverto/INF3151/blob/master/INF3151Setup.pdf.
We cannot exclude that some of your fellow students have problems with Internett access from home. Please drop us a note if you know of such a case!
Please keep an eye on this course page - "things" are in change and we cannot exclude that they impact us.
Since the last post things have changed and we are now investigating together with the Ifi administration the alternatives how to proceed with the course. We hope to post tomorrow (Friday 13th) the concrete plan.
Since it is impossible for all to test whether the solution for P3 runs on bare metal we remove the requirement that the code should run directly on HW. However, there will probably more changes.
We decided to perform the group teaching from now on in the cyber space instead of Modula. We are working on a mattermost solution, but it might take a bit of time until this is established. Until then please target questions to your group teacher by email or agree with them on another communication means. We guarantee that your group teachers will respond during the scheduled group teaching "immediately".
Due to the recent policies of the University of Oslo with respect to Covid-19 we are working on to provide a recorded version of the missing lectures via Internet.
Please keep an eye on this page to see when what is available in which form.
The lecture on Tuesday is cancelled and will be postponed. There will be a new message later when this lecture is scheduled.
The lectures from Professor Vera Goebel are moved one week back. The project presentation for P3 will be given as scheduled on Wednesday 4th at 16:00.
Please do not forget to fill and sign the declaration for INF3151/4151 and deliver to your group teacher or study administration. Only those that those that have delivered it will get access to future projects.
For convenience, please find here the form.
Project P1 will be presented today (January 22nd) at 16:00 in Store Aud, right after today's lectures on scheduling.
Please send an e-mail to plageman@ifi.uio.no with the full names and the user names of the team members. We will establish a GutHub.uio repository for the team and the corresponding group in devilry. The deadline for the first mandatory assignment is Tuesday 28th (January 2020).
Those that have not informed us about their team by Friday 24th (January 2020) 13:00 will be on a random based teamed up.
As promised, we have made the TA's tips and tricks page available through the course web-site. You can find it in the project-assignment-and-group-teaching folder, found on the left side of the web-site.
We make on Tuesday (14. 1. 2020) the voluntary assignment P0 available and present it on Wednesday (15. 1. 2020). The day afterwards we have the first group teaching in Modula for Group 3 at 10:15.
