As the submission deadline for our first obligatory assignment expired Wednesday night, 48 submissions from course participants had been received. Jakob wasted no time in reviewing your work: right before the weekend, everyone should have received feedback in Devilry. Please check your scores and get in touch (e.g. by emailing ‘email@example.com’) to resolve any questions you might have.
In the laboratory this coming Monday (September 15, 10:15–12:00; room Java), Jakob will go through a model solution for the first exercise and then start jointly with you on working through Problem Set (2a), which we have just posted to the course site. Even though some of the underlying theory will first be introduced in the upcoming lecture (Wednesday, September 17, 14:15–16:00), there is no reason to not start on the implementation of basic data structures (sparse vectors and matrixes) before the lecture. Please note that the submission deadline for Problem Set (2a) is Wednesday, September 24; late submissions cannot be accepted.
