# Exercises for STK 3100/4100 fall 2019

Below are given exercises for the coming week(s) and an overview of exercises that have been given earlier. The week numbers and dates given below is when the exercise class is given. The students should make a real effort to work on the exercises in the week before  the exercise class.

Week 47 (November 20th): This is the last exercise class

Exercises from the text book: 9.22, 9.24, 9.29, and 9.39.  (In exercise 9.39a, quasi-likelihood with beta-binomial variance function is mentioned. We did not consider this method at the lectures, but you may still compare with the result reported in the problem.)

Week 46 (November 13th):

Week 45 (November 6th):

Exercises from the text book: 7.30, 7.31, 8.6, 8.8, 8.9, 8.14, and 8.17. (Before you do exercises 8.8 and 8.9, you should read section 8.3.3 in the text book.)

Week 44 (October 30th):

Unfortunately no new exercises were given to Week 43, we try to go on with most of the exercises planned for that week. Apologies for the somewhat heavy workload this week but as usual solutions will be provided.

Exercises from the text book: 2.22, 2.23, 3.2, 3.4, 3.5, and 3.7. [In 3.2 you should also consider the situation where t has a noncentral t-distribution; in 3.7 you should use R to do the computations (cf. page 92 in the book).]

Week 36 (September 4th):

Exercises from the text book: 2.11, 2.13, 2.14, 2.15, 2.16, 2.22 and 2.23. (In 2.13 you may assume that X has full rank; in 2.15 you may use the result on page 36 on nested models.)

Week 35 (August 28th):

Exercises from the text book: 1.7, 1.8, 1.11, 1.12a (question b is based on section 1.4.2 which was not covered in the lectures of week 34), 1.13, 1.21, and 1.24.
