The innovation work in UiO:Life Science is underway

According to the UiO strategy for life sciences, UiO:Life Science shall promote innovation for environment and health. Working groups have started to explore what actions the initiative should take in 2017.

The working groups for innovation have participants from several faculties, departments and centres at UiO as well as external collaborators.

Administrative leader of UiO:Life Science, Morten Egeberg, has established four working groups with internal and external representatives to get input on

  • how the initiative should work with communities in and around the university to build an innovative powerhouse for life sciences in the Oslo region
  • what the bottlenecks are to get more innovation from the university today
  • which actions should be taken order to do something about the bottlenecks and achieve the goals of the initiative

After the initial meeting of each group, a smaller, more permanent working group will be established to decide which actions the initiative should initiate in 2017. This can also be actions in a relatively small scale to get a better understanding of what has good effects and what should not be continued – a rapid prototyping approach.
