Blindern campus has many hidden gems, and a great deal is being done to promote biodiversity on campus. Yet very few people know that there are a number of red-listed plant species just a stone’s throw from Kristine Bonnevie’s house, or that we have bat boxes placed around the campus and that several red-listed bird species have been recorded at Blindern!
To mark the UN’s International Day for Biological Diversity, we’d love for you to join us in celebrating diversity! The Green Office, Tekna Naturmangfold and biology professors at the University of Oslo, in collaboration with the Parks Department, invite you to a biodiversity walk on the Blindern campus! Here we will see, among other things, speedwell, tuberous meadowsweet and lots of other exciting things!
Meeting point: Sophus Lies Auditorium at Blindern at 11:00
Programme:
- 11:00–11:30: Welcome and a brief overview of the various initiatives being undertaken to manage the biodiversity on campus
- 11:30–12:30: Walk around various locations on campus with particularly rich biodiversity!
Take a break from your studies, an learn something new about the nature that surrounds you!
