Reuse and Repair

We want to give all students and staff the chance to repair their clothes and to choose second-hand items rather than buying new ones!

At the Green Office, we regularly organise clothes swaps, bike tyre changes and bike repairs, trips to the recycling centre to collect free furniture, as well as sewing and knitting classes.

Monthly Repair Café

Do you have a hole in your favourite jumper, or a pair of trousers you want to take in? You can use the sewing machines at the Green Office every day from 10.00 to 14.00, and on the first Friday of the month we organise a Repair Café, where you can get help fixing your clothes.

Knitting Café at the HumSam Library

Would you like to knit a jumper, a scarf or a hat – rather than buying something new? Every last Friday of the month, we host a Knitting Café at the HumSam Library, open to beginners and more experienced knitters alike!

Check out the Free Corner!

Do you have clothes, kitchenware, electronics or books you no longer use? Fancy a new coat or a pair of shoes? At the Green Office, we have a Free Corner – where you can donate or pick up clothes, books or other items.

In 2025, over 1,000 items and garments were donated to the Free Corner! This is how we contribute to the circular economy and more sustainable consumption.
