Most students will receive a username for the IT services by SMS before the semester starts. When you have received your username, you can set a password for your IT account. Set a password in Password services.
Exchange students
Exchange students will receive an SMS in late May - early June for the autumn semester and in November/December in the spring semester.
Full degree students
Full degree students will receive an SMS in late July- early August.
Please note that master's degree students who have been granted a conditional offer of admission, will not receive their username and password until they have fulfilled the condition.
Students paying tuition fees to UiO will not receive their username and password until they have paid the tuition fee or are granted an exemption.
You can then log in to Studentweb with your username and password.
Update phone number
It is important that you have registered your phone number correctly to be able to receive the username.
If you update your phone number in your online application in Søknadsweb, it will take 7 days before the number is updated within the system. If the SMS is not delivered to you, UiO will try to resend it over a period of 90 days.

You may also contact the information centre at your faculty for assistance for registering for courses within the deadline.
Note that some countries have restrictions for receiving SMS from Norway.
