Invitation to summer course at the Nansen Academy in Lillehammer
The Nansen East-West Dialogue Academy in collaboration with Nordisk institutt for Asiastudier invites you to register for a summer course at the Nansen Academy in Lillehammer:
Dear student,
We are now in the process of inviting students from East Asia and from the Nordic region for a unique summer course at the Nansen Academy in Lillehammer, from July 4 to 14 2017. Our aim is to address students from the East and the West who are interested in present world affairs, and who want to broaden their insight and understanding of these in preparation for an active social life as academics and thus experts in different fields of life.
15 internationally recognized scholars who are also outstanding presenters will share their insights and knowledge on current global challenges, and take part in subsequent dialogues organized as roundtables, panel debates and group sessions with 55 Asian and Nordic students.
The Nansen East-West Dialogue Academy (or in short NEWDAY) will be offering serious intellectual input, while stressing positive human interaction and open discussions in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, in order to promote cross-cultural insights and understanding, and not least friendship.

The keynote speakers will attend the Dialogue Academy and share their knowledge and experiences without payment. However, three meals a day, kitchen staff and staff to keep the institution running is still costly, which is why we have to set a fee for attending. The normal fee, all included, for the 10 day event is around 1.300 Euro. However, due to a grant from the Nordic Council of Ministers we can now provide 50% of that amount in financial support for students at Nordic universities.
