Campus, Zhejiang University

Zhejiang University

A total of 10-20 students from these Nordic universities will get a unique opportunity to combine their master's studies at home with a specially organized master studies program at ZJU. ZJU is situated in Hangzhou which is one of the most pleasant cities of China, only one hour by train from Shanghai, and two hours by plane from Beijing and Hong Kong.

One year in Oslo, one year in China

The parallel master program is a two-year program comprising one year of studies at ZJU and one year at the home university. The first semester, you will follow courses at UiO. The 2nd and 3rd semester you will study at ZJU, taking courses especially designed for students from the Scandinavian universities, taught by teachers from ZJU and Denmark and Norway. The Nordic Consortium of China Studies is a element in this collaborative project, between Stockholm Univeristy, the University of Oslo, Aarhus University and Copenhagen University.

Field of study

The program is open for students interested in both social sciences and humanities, and courses will cover topics within both of these broad fields. Students taking part in the program will write a thesis of 30 ECTS during the 4th semester (preparing it during 3rd semester at ZJU) and get supervision from a teacher at ZJU as well as one from home. Please find a more detailed description of the program below.

Due to our special agreement with ZJU, there is no tuition fee attached to the program, but students will cover living and other costs by themselves (room in shared apartment is around 1,500 Yuan per month, and depending on life style living costs amount to about 2,500 Yuan per month).
