As part of UiO's climate and environmental work, Green Office offers financial support for green projects or activities.
The projects must be in line with UiO's climate and environmental strategy, and preferably connect students and staff in green collaborative projects.
Who can apply?
Students, student associations and student organizations at the University of Oslo (UiO) are eligible to apply.
Students with a business idea can receive free advice from Insj (Insjuio.no).
What can you apply for?
You can apply for up to NOK 30,000 to support new initiatives and activities that:
- promote student engagement and participation in sustainability-related issues;
- contribute the goals in UiO's Climate and Environment Strategy
- can lead to long-term initiatives, activities or changes and can have a ripple effect on the wider community.
We have previously supported initiatives such as the Green Student Movement, Plant-Based Campus UiO and the Natural History Museum, where they used the Green Grants to build a greenhouse from reused materials.
How to apply:
- Applying through a student organization? Check that the student organization can issue an EHF invoice, as this is how funds are transferred to student organizations.
- Applying through a UiO unit: Contact the relevant unit to obtain the cost centre and subproject number required by Green Office to transfer the funds.
- Prepare a project description that includes:
- how your idea promotes student engagement and participation in sustainability-related issues;
- how it contributes to the goals of the Comprehensive Climate and Environmental Strategy;
- how it may result in lasting measures, activities, or changes and create positive effects beyond the project itself;
- a budget.
- Complete the application form.
The Green Office can support the projects that are granted support with marketing and communication, and access to meeting facilities. After completion, the project team must submit a short project report.

The application form is open at all times.
