Ekeli new Faculty Director

The University Board decided on 14 May 2024 to offer Hanna Ekeli the position of Faculty Director at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Oslo.

She is currently employed as Director of Academic Affairs at the university and has been Department Director at the Management and Support Units since September 2015.

Ekeli has close to 29 years' experience from UiO and has worked at department, faculty, and central level. She has held several management positions at various units. Among other things, she has been Head of Section at the Study Section at the Faculty of Education, as well as Head of Administration at the Study Department and Department of Support Services centrally at the university. Ekeli had administrative responsibility for the creation of the Teacher Education Programme in 2003.

She has contributed to several national collaboration arenas and led several steering groups for administrative projects, particularly in collaboration with the University of Bergen, NTNU and UiT, the Arctic University of Norway. Among other things, she has led the steering group for National coordination of master's admissions.

Ekeli has a cand.polit. in pedagogy from UiO.

She is good at collaborating and has an impeccable understanding of the university's social mission. I am sure that she will work in constructive interaction with the dean, other management at the Faculty of Medicine, other faculties, and UiO central, says University Director Arne Benjaminsen.

Ekeli takes up her new position sometime after the summer.
