FRITT - Open Access journals at UiO

FRITT is a publication service for researchers and groups at UiO who want to establish a new scholarly Open Access journal or to convert an existing journal to Open Access.

What is FRITT?

  • FRITT is a service that provides tools for academic publishing, as well as administrative tools for peer review, editing, etc.
  • The service offers help and advice in establishing new journals, user support and help for technical issues, as well as indexing and registration in online databases to improve a journals impact and discoverability.

  • Registration of permanent identifiers (URI’s) is also done by us, and the expenses are covered by UB. We use the international standard, DOI.

  • FRITT does not offer support for editorial processes, as journals are expected to handle the daily administration of these themselves.
