How to use UiO ID to get your access card

To use the app, you need a valid passport or national ID card.

1. Download the app
   • Download UiO ID from the App Store or Google Play.
2. Scan your ID document
   • Use the camera to scan your ID document. You can only scan passports and national ID cards.
3. Read the chip
   • Hold the ID document against your phone to read the chip.
4. Choose a PIN
   • Choose a personal PIN for your card. You use this code when opening doors on the university campus.
5. Submit the photo
   • The app retrieves the photo automatically. The photo is sent to the Card Centre and will be used on the access card.
6. Pick up access card
   • Employees and guests pick up their access card from the Card Centre.
   • During start of studies students order their access card via the checklist in My studies and select the pick up point in the app. You will be notified when the card is ready to be picked up. Outside of this period students pick up their access card from the Card Centre.
