The UiO has an agreement with Red Hat which permits both students and persons employed by the UiO to use Red Hat Enterprise Linux on their private computers.

Getting started

Can be used by students, staff and members of faculty.

Important

If you want to set up and use a Linux computer in your daily work environment, you need to confer with the local IT staff. They know best how to do this and can advice on how best to proceed and whether or not you should NFS mount your personal disk partition and settings. Please note that Linux is not a supported platform on all departments.
