Is it me or the system?
IT services at UiO rarely experience downtime, but it does happen here just like anywhere else. If you find that one of the central IT services is not working as expected, it can be helpful to confirm whether the problem is with your own device or if the system is actually "down."
Check status.uio.no
Take a look at the new service and see if all services are up.
status.uio.no
On the front page of the IT service catalog at UiO, operational messages are always linked. These messages inform if there are any issues with the services and provide status updates about the work to fix any problems. But if you just want a quick check to see if something is wrong right now, status.uio.no is the place to go.
Always available
Not only does status.uio.no provide a convenient overview of operational status; it is always available. The service is hosted on servers outside of UiO, so if something really serious happens and Vortex and the operational messages are not accessible, you can still see the status of services at status.uio.no.
Fast updates
The application on status.uio.no fetches data from logs that collect information about the IT systems at UiO. This happens automatically, so you can count on status.uio.no to be updated quickly when something occurs. Some updates still require manual input, but soon the service will be fully automatic and updated around the clock.
