We recommend all applicants to carefully read the cancellation and refund policy below before accepting their place of study. When accepting the place of study, applicants also accept that they have read and understood the cancellation and refund policy.
Applicants who cancel before the cancellation deadline will be granted a refund of the course fees, except for a cancellation fee of 2500 NOK.
- Cancellation deadline for Spring semester: December 1
- Cancellation deadline for Autumn semester: July 1
- Cancellation deadline for Summer semester: June 1
Cancellation after the deadline
Students who fail to meet the Norwegian language requirements due to insufficient NORA/ISS exam results in the previous semester will be granted a full refund. Cancellations due to insufficient NORA/ISS exam results are administered automatically, and students do not have to fill out the cancellation form above.
Students who cancel after the cancellation deadline for any other reason will not be granted a refund.
Deferment
If you are unable to attend the course due to medical reasons affecting you or someone in your care, you may apply to defer your place of study to an equivalent course within the next 12 months. Medical documentation is required.
- Before the course starts: You may defer your place of study to the following autumn, spring or summer semester.
- After the course has started: If your deferment is granted after the course has begun, you may complete the remaining part of the course in a later equivalent semester. For example, if you are granted deferment in week 7 of the spring semester, you will resume the course from week 7 in the upcoming autumn or spring semester.
- Only participants granted deferment before the course starts may take the full course in a later semester. Because of the structural differences between the autumn/spring and intensive summer course, it is generally not possible to defer between autumn/spring courses and summer courses.
- You may defer your admission once only.
- If the course fee has increased by the time you resume the course, you must pay the difference.
- No partial refund will be given if there is a price difference between NORA0130 and NORA0130IN.
Please note that a granted deferment does not automatically enrol you in a future course. You must submit a new application once the application portal opens for the relevant semester.

Refund of semester fee
All students studying in the autumn and spring semester must pay a mandatory semester fee in addition to the course fees. This fee is administered by the central administration at the University of Oslo. To apply for a refund of the semester fee, you must apply directly to the University.
