An updated reading plan on Chapter 9 is uploaded.

The course plan is updated (for week 44). Also, a supplementary note (Chapter 8) is posted.

Hint for Assignment 3, 3(d): To calculate the gamma density, you need to define a new varible. Try the Stata Help for command 'generate' and 'replace'.

Assignment 3 is announced. The data set for Assignment 3 can be downloaded from the course web site. See the link 'data set for assignment 3'.

Also I have posted the solution of Assignment 2.

Skip exercise 60c in the practice problem set 9. Do the rest (60 a,d,e) as given.

New practice problem set is posted.

Important! All students are encouraged to give a brief evaluation of the course by submitting this form. Deadline for answering is 1 October.

There will be a lecture Friday September 21: aud. 7 Eilert Sundt building (same time: 8.15-10). But no seminars this week (38). The seminars will go as normal in week 42 (where there will be no lecture).

Tapas Kundu has extra office hours this Tuesday from 16 to 18 in addition to his normal office hours Thursday's from 16 to 18.
