Mandatory infection prevention course now available at uio.no

In the course of next week, UiO will allow for more students and staff to gain access to campus, following new signals from the Ministry of Education and Research, and changes in the infection control rules. Anyone returning to campus must complete a 15-minute infection prevention course.

In connection with the gradual reopening of the university, UiO is launching an e-learning course in infection prevention for staff and students. The course is mandatory for those returning to work or their studies in the time to come, and takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.

Important part of systematic infection prevention work

– This type of training will ensure the necessary competence in infection prevention amongst students and staff who return to campus now that we are allowing for expanded access to the university's buildings, said University Director Arne Benjaminsen about the course, which was developed at the University of Bergen.

– For some, it may seem unnecessary having to complete such a course, but this is an important part of systematic and solid infection prevention work with proper routines applying to all, explained Benjaminsen.

An in-depth infection prevention course for employees

In addition to the mandatory 15-minute course, UiO is offering a more in-depth infection prevention course that addresses risk assessments and goes deeper into the pathways of infection.

This course is aimed at university staff.

Both of the infection prevention courses are free, and they are offered in Norwegian and English.

If you have already taken the infection prevention course under the auspices of UiO at Zoom, you do not need to complete the 15-minute course.
