Salary settlement 2026 at the University of Oslo

The local parties at the University of Oslo (UiO) have reached an agreement on general increases for the 2026 salary settlement.

How the settlement is structured

In this year’s main settlement, the state and all main trade unions have entered into identical joint basic collective agreements. Employees who are not members of a trade union are also covered by this agreement.

The financial framework of this year’s salary settlement is 2,7%. The entire financial framework is to be negotiated locally.

Who is covered by the local salary settlement at UiO?

The settlement applies to employees who were employed at UiO as of 1 May 2026, with some exceptions described in the text below.

Salary changes take effect from 1 May 2026 and will be paid retroactively by the Payroll Office as soon as possible.

This year’s general increases

The University of Oslo and the main trade unions Akademikerne, Unio stat, LO stat and YS stat agreed in August on a general increase for the local salary settlement 2026.

The parties agreed on the following:

  • All employees receive a general increase of 2,1%
  • Employees who are members of Akademikerne, LO Stat, Unio Stat or YS Stat receive an additional 0,3% general increase.
  • Employees who resign from UiO in the period from 1 May 2026 to 30 September 2026 do not receive the general increase. This does not apply to those who have been terminated due to circumstances relating to the institution.

The remaining part of the financial framework is set aside for individual negotiations, with a negotiation deadline of 31 October 2026. The results of these negotiations will be communicated after the negotiation deadline.
