We can trace the history of the Greek language through texts dating back to the Bronze Age, over 3000 years ago. Since that time, Greek has been used continuously to express the thoughts and feelings of Greek speakers until today. From administrative texts to epics, tragedy and comedy, the full range of human activities is available to us.

How did Bronze Age Greeks keep track of their resources? What made people in Athens laugh or cry? What is the Greek language used for today?

In this event, you will find out and get to know more about the development of Greek language and culture over three millennia.

You will meet:

  • Welcome
