Dr. Mimi E. Lam will in this talk, argue that embedding values and ethics in marine resource management frameworks can help secure seafood sustainability. This is the impetus for her current project, eSEAS: Enhancing Seafood Ethics and Sustainability, which has three aims: 1. to promote interdisciplinary research in seafood ethics; 2. to develop decision-support tools to enhance seafood ethics and sustainability; and 3. to implement ethical approaches to European management challenges. Lam will present two ethical deliberation and decision-support tools that illustrate how explicit considerations of values and ethics in decision-making can enhance resource sustainability and governance.
