Young talents – career opportunities beyond academia

At this seminar PhD students, postdocs and Master´s students in life sciences at UiO and NMBU had the opportunity to create networks outside academia. Watch videos from the event.

Young talents

The event was organized for the first time in 2018. The response was overwhelming and the 100 places were fully booked in a short time both in 2018, 2019 and 2020.

The seminar consisted of three parts

  • 1:00 PM–2:30 PM: An inspirational talk and short introductions from people working outside of academia who will tell how they are working and how they got there, see list of speakers below.
  • 3:00 PM– 4:30 PM: A speed networking event where students have the opportunity to sit down and talk to companies, see list of companies below.
  • 4:30 PM–5:30 PM: A social event with refreshments where students and companies can mingle

The University of Oslo and the City of Oslo invite all participants of the Oslo Life Science Conference to attend a reception in Oslo City Hall at 19.00 after the main event of the Oslo Life Science Conference 10 February. You may sign up for the reception when you sign up for Young talents.

 

 


The seminar has been developed in close collaboration between UiO:Life Science; NMBU; the PhD organizations at UiO and NMBU, UiODoc and SoDoc; and the career centres at UiO and NMBU.
