The International Summer School (ISS) offers four-week summer courses at Bachelor's and Master's level. Each course awards 10 ECTS credits (10 studiepoeng).
Who can apply?
All students enrolled in a UiO Bachelor's or Master's degree programme may apply for a four-week summer course. UiO programme students are exempt from paying the participation fee.
Students with citizenship from countries outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland must pay tuition fees, unless they qualify for an exemption. If you are a UiO student and hold citizenship from outside the EU/EEA or Switzerland, please contact us by email before applying.
Please note:
• UiO programme students may be eligible for financial support from Lånekassen under the same terms and conditions as a regular semester.
• UiO students must apply through the application portal as self-financed applicants, not as scholarship applicants. Please upload a CV as part of the application. It is not necessary to upload motivation letter or letter of recommendation.
• The six-week Norwegian language courses are not free for UiO students. All participants, regardless of their affiliation with UiO, are required to pay the course fee for Norwegian language courses.
• If you are finishing your bachelor’s degree in the spring semester and wish to apply for a master’s course during the summer, please contact us by email.
Before you apply
If you plan to include a summer course as part of your degree programme, it is your responsibility to ensure that:
• The course can be approved as part of your degree.
• The course does not overlap with other courses in your study plan.
