Abstract

In my artistic research, I delve into the core of the rotkäppchen duo's creative process, which revolves around non-verbal communication, harmoniously intertwining dance, music, and visuals. Each of our compositions involves the meticulous construction of a unique communication-reaction chain, facilitating the seamless integration of both composed and improvised sound, visual, and movement elements into our live performances. The key objective is to define the role of sensors, computers, and controllers as tools for technological mediation, always preserving the paramount status of human-to-human interaction. In this presentation, I will focus on the interaction models that underpin the rotkäppchen duo's artistic endeavors, aiming to delineate the spaces where the composition of multimedia components harmoniously coexists with improvisational elements. Throughout, I emphasize our commitment to maintaining the distinctiveness of each medium, ensuring that no medium becomes a mere byproduct of either Human-Human Interaction (HHI) or HCI, while also acknowledging the intentional interplay between composition and improvisation within our soundscapes.
