Bio
Diego Marín, BA, MA [he/him], is a dance researcher, choreographer, and performing artist working across dance anthropology, embodied cognition, and artistic research. His doctoral research at RITMO investigates what dance rhythm is and how it is constituted through embodied, temporal, and relational processes in music–dance performance, drawing on ethnographic fieldwork with djembe dancers and musicians in West Africa. His research focuses on kinesthetic and procedural memory, improvisation, multimodal interaction, embodied learning, and the co-creation of rhythm between dancers and musicians.
Alongside his doctoral work, Diego researches human–AI co-creativity and technologically mediated forms of dance. He is the author of Encarnando lo Artificial (2024), with the English edition Embodying the Artificial forthcoming (2026) from Intellect. His recent artistic research explores human–AI performance, movement sonification, and non-visual approaches to dance, bringing together choreographic practice, technology, accessibility, and embodied interaction.
