Thesis seminar
We give the thesis seminars every semester, HFILN9000A and HFILN9000B in the Spring Semester. HFILN9000C and HFILN9000D will run during the Autumn semester.
The thesis seminar shall all together account for a minimum of 6/maximum 8 credits, that you gather over a few semesters.
ILN organises subject-specific thesis seminars in linguistics each semester. Research fellows who are taken on after 1 January 2018 will need to attend such at least 4 times during their studies. At each of these 4 compulsory seminars you must present your own texts on at least two occasions, comment on the texts of others at least twice and participate actively in the audience at any other sessions. Active participation means reading the texts that have been circulated in advance and contributing your own comments to the discussion. In order to obtain the best possible academic benefits, it is recommended that you should attend several thesis seminars and make more presentations and comments than is necessary in order to comply with the minimum requirement. If you are interested, please feel free to attend various subject-specific thesis seminars (literature, areas, languages). If your project intersects with other disciplines (such as philosophy, anthropology or political science), you should investigate the possibility of attending thesis seminars at other institutes or faculties at the UiO. Please contact your supervisor about this.

Admission
