Course content

The course is no longer available, but similar courses is offered in MARL5110 – Maritime Law: Safety, Competition and EU and MARL5120 – Maritime Law in practice: Mock Trial

The course consists of:

  • A series of specialized seminars (which may vary from year
    to year to ensure that the topics are of current interest)
  • Independent work associated with a mock trial on maritime
    law. The students will be divided into teams, which, under the coaching of
    different law firms, will represent the parties. The teams will advise the
    parties on how to handle a conflict and later exchange pleadings within fixed
    time limits. Finally the case is tried before an experienced arbitration panel
    in a public hearing.

To study selected associated topics in depth, and to experience the working environment of a maritime lawyer.

To be allowed to take the exam in MARLSEMIN - Specialist courses and mock trial, you must be accepted at the Maritime Law (master's 1 1/2-years).

It is possible to take this exam up to 3 times. If you withdraw from the exam after the deadline or during the exam, this will be counted as an examination attempt.

There are special rules for resitting a passed examination in the master's programme in Law.
