2025 Exam discussion on Wednesday

Hello IN3020/4020 takers,

We are done with our lectures and classes, and I hope you learned a lot about database systems during these months! The only things that are left for us is a session on Wednesday (in the usual lecture time) and the exam. On Wednesday, we will discuss the 2025 exam (which is available at https://www.uio.no/studier/emner/matnat/ifi/IN3020/v25/Exam_files/in3020-4020_exam_2025.pdf ). I expect you all to at least read and understand all the questions in the paper. However, I advise you to try this exam in a realistic settings (continuous 4 hours without any help expect the all-slides file, whose 2025’s version is available at https://www.uio.no/studier/emner/matnat/ifi/IN3020/v25/Exam_files/in3020-4020_slides_all_2025.pdf ). I also recommend everyone to read the tips from the last year at https://www.uio.no/studier/emner/matnat/ifi/IN3020/v25/beskjeder/exam-tomorrow.html, which generally apply this time as well. You will also have an opportunity to ask any questions during the session.

IMPORTANT: as this session is not a part of the curriculum, I do not plan to record it

For the exam, the main materials for you are the lecture slides and recordings, the problem sheets, and the previous years’ exams (2022–2025). I will publish the all-slides file similar to the last-year one soon; it will be available for you in inspera during the exam (please remember that you are not allowed to bring anything there: no print-outs, no calculator, etc.) I am available for any questions (by email, discourse, appointment, etc.) any reasonable time til the exam day.
