International PhD course on Theories of Information Systems

The University of Oslo (UiO) and the University of Agder (UiA) jointly offers a 3-week intensive course on Theories of Information Systems. The course is open for national and international PhD-candidates.

The course has its foundation in contemporary theories of Information Systems research, and focuses on the relationship between key theoretical approaches and research methodology, ontology, and epistemology; the appropriateness and usability of these approaches; the relationship and impact of Information System theories in relation to the topics of the candidates; comparing, appraising and critiquing theoretical/conceptual frameworks and the relationship between information technology (IT) and organization; and the various traditions of information systems research.

Travel and Accommodation

This course is partly taught at University of Oslo, Norway and partly taught at University of Agder, Kristiansand, Norway. Please note that participants must arrange their own travel and accommodation in Oslo and Kristiansand.

Students not registered at UiO must register as guest students at UiO. For more information, please contact the administrative responsible.

Participants must arrange their own travel and accommodation. The course is approved as a 10 ECTS at UiO. There are no tuition fees. The maximum number of students is 40. The teaching will be a combination of lectures and seminars.
