Jean-Pictet Competition
The Jean-Pictet Competition is a learning event in international humanitarian law (IHL) for students (law, political science, military academies, professional institutes...), competing in teams of three persons.
Nelson Mandela World Human Rights Moot Court Competition
Nordic IP Moot Court Competition
The subject area for the competition is intellectual property law, and it is conducted in English. The competition starts every autumn in September and finishes in December.
The competition takes place between teams from Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland, and it consists of written and oral portions. The teams are assigned a case, and they prepare a writ of summons and defence reply first. Then there is qualification for the Nordic moot court final. If more than one team from Norway is registered, a "test moot court" is arranged between the teams, after which a winner team is chosen based on their written and oral performances. The winning teams will be allowed to participate in the Nordic moot court final. All teams will be supported by a coach.
The following applies for the moot court competition for the autumn of 2019:
- By 1 September: Registration for 5040 through the StudentWeb.
- 9 September: Assignment of a case (see semester page)
- 7 October: Submission of the statement of claims
- 4 November: Submission of the statement of defence
- 20 November - 25 November: Internal qualification procedures
- 25 November: Announcement of selected teams qualified for the final
- 6 December: Nordic moot court final in Copenhagen

The subject area for the competition is international law, and it is conducted in English. UiO has not sent a team since 2000.

Telders International Law Moot Court Competition
The subject area for the competition is international law, and it is conducted in English. Students studying law and in the Master's Programme in Public International Law have participated in the competition since 2011, and in 2012 the team from UiO won.
