The exam will be Monday December 11th in the room "Hurricane" on the 2. floor at Ullevål (Sognsveien 77 B).  We start at the following times:

• 11.00: Sabrina Pauli

Each exam will start with one of the problems (1abc or 2abc, randomly determined) from this list.

The lecture October 18th is cancelled, due to an Abel Committee meeting.

Niels Bonten <nielsbo@math.uio.no> is the contact student for MAT4540/MAT9540 this term. We will organize a course evaluation in a couple of weeks.  The mandatory assignments will be published in late October and due sometime in November.

Exercises for the coming week will be posted under "Schedule".

I plan to lecture on Chapter 3 of Hatcher's "Algebraic Topology", with less emphasis than usual on Poincare duality (3.3), and more emphasis on H-spaces and Hopf algebras (3.A, 3.B, 3.C, 3.D).
