SPARK Norway Educational Forum: Path to commercialization

SPARK Norway Educational Forum are monthly open meetings organized by UiO:Life Science and SPARK Norway partners.

The path to a commercial success of an innovation is a complex road, and it often takes an entire ecosystem to achieve it.

In order to commercialize innovations more efficiently in the life science sector, the innovators must learn to navigate a multifaceted road known as the Commercialization Pathway. A number of complex steps must be taken into account, including:

  •  Assembling the right team
  •  Protecting Intellectual Property
  • Understanding end customer’s real needs
  • Optimizing product feature set/value proposition
  • Securing strategic partners
  • Product de-risking and pilot testing

Founder, CEO of Bold Works GmbH 

Daniel Young is an international expert, with 18 years’ hands-on experience building technology ventures, especially in the health care sector.

He has founded and managed several companies within digital health, including Carepath Technologies and DXY Solutions and in 2013 he founded Bold Works GmbH, a health-tech commercialization agency.

Daniel directs his professional concentration towards digital health and life science ventures seeking to advance the quality and delivery of care using innovative AI/ML and hardware-enabled solutions.
