The need for competence in statistics is great, and it is easy for statisticians to get relevant work. With a master's degree in statistics, you are well qualified to work with data analysis in medicine, technology, and insurance / finance, just to mention a few fields.
Statisticians work in large companies, in hospitals, in public administration, in consultancy firms and in research institutes such as the Norwegian Computing Center.
Since statistics is also a research tool, there are good opportunities to get a position where you will get in touch with research on one level or another.
After completing the master's degree, some students may want to move on to a PhD degree, which is the entrance to a research career in the field of statistics.
