Learning outcomes

In the programme option Statistics, you will learn a general conceptual framework and theory for statistical analyses and you will learn how a statistical investigation may be performed in practice in a number of specific situations.

Through the master’s degree courses, you will be able to study both theory and practice in depth in certain specific areas. This will give you a solid academic background, which is crucial to be able to follow new developments in the field of statistics and to be able to work independently with statistical problems

The work with your master’s thesis will give you a first meeting with research in the field of statistics. This is the start of an invaluable process, whether you intend to continue with statistics research, or work with professionals from other fileds. At the same time, your thesis work will give you training in good written presentation skills, something that is essential for all work in statistics.

See also learning outcomes for both programme options.
