MuMYO

MuMYO is a musical instrument prototype, aimed to investigate the use of the MYO armand with various instrumental actions.

MYO is developed by Thalmic Labs and consists of eight electromyographic (EMG) sensors that measure muscle tension, as well as an inertial measurement unit that provides gyroscope and accelerometer data in addition to an orientation estimate.

MuMYO has been developed in Max 7, acquiring data from the MYO using Samy Kamkar’s myo-osc bridge, with a slight modification to include streaming of the raw EMG data.
