NIME 2011

The International Conference on New Interfaces for Musical Expression gathers researchers and musicians from all over the world to share their knowledge and late-breaking work on new musical interface design.

What

The conference started out as a workshop at the Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems (CHI) in 2001. Since then, international conferences have been held around the world, hosted by groups dedicated to research on New Interfaces for Musical Expression. More information at www.nime.org.

When

The conference will be organized from Monday 30 May to Wednesday 1 June 2011, with additional workshops, concerts and installations the days before the conference (25–29 May).

Where

  • Paper presentations, demos and poster sessions will be held at the University library (Georg Sverdrups hus) in the middle of the Blindern campus.
  • Evening concerts will be held in the concert halls at the Norwegian Academy of Music.
  • Club concerts will be held at Betong, the concert stage of the Norwegian student association, and possibly other locations in the city.
  • Installations can be located at the above mentioned locations, or in other places around Oslo.
