This is your chance to help make AST4310 better. Please fill in the survey for the final course evaluation. It is only three questions long. We really appreciate your feedback.
I strongly recommend you have a read through Tipler & Llewellyn's free sections on multi-electron atoms and Zeeman effect, available as pdf:
They are only a few pages long and will help getting into the subject of Zeeman effect.
Due the impending presentations for AST4320 in week 45, there will be no lectures on Nov 8 and Nov 9. In addition, I will be away on Nov 16, so there won't be a lecture on that day either.
The groups for project 3 will be as follows:
Group 1: 15501, 15502 Group 2: 15503, 15506 Group 3: 15504, 15505 Group 4: 15507, 15509 Group 5: 15508, 15511 Group 6: 15510, 15512
Please remember that both students in a group should hand in the assignment, and include both candidate numbers in the assignment.
Welcome to the Autumn 2021 version of AST4310. I have set up a webpage with supplementary information about the course, assessment, and software. The assignments and other notebooks will also be appearing in the course's github repository. Lecture slides and handwritten notes will also be available for download (link may require UiO login).
Hope you have a great time this semester!
Tiago
