Plans for the week of May 18-22

Dear all, sadly, this is our last week of lectures.   The material for this week is included in the PDF file at https://github.com/CompPhysics/QuantumComputingMachineLearning/blob/gh-pages/doc/pub/week17/pdf/week17.pdf while the jupyter-notebook, which includes only codes for quantum and classical Boltzmann machines, is at https://github.com/CompPhysics/QuantumComputingMachineLearning/blob/gh-pages/doc/pub/week17/ipynb/week17.ipynb

I will probably make some minor adjustments to the PDF file (some Latex overflow to be fixed).

The aim this week is to give you a brief excursion into quantum Boltzmann machines and how they differ from classical ones before we end then start with a summary of the course.  The summary slides start with slide 31.  We will try to discuss some of the technicalities around Boltzmann machines and hopefully that will give you a basic feeling of what they are about.  Since I would also like to add a discussion of the last project, I would like to suggest that we start at 915 instead of 1015 and end at 12pm. That is we skip the exercise session 815-10 and start rather with a regular lecture at 915 and end at our regular time 12pm. It will be registered as usual and it will also be available directly via zoom. I hope this ok. The reason for doing this is that most likely I will need a little bit more than one regular lecture for Boltzmann machines part.

best wishes to you all,

Carl Fredrik and Morten
