I have made a document showing the details of the syllabus from the various books we have used. This is mainly already on the detailed teaching plan, but I have sytematized it. I have not repeated all the papers from the syllabus page where the details are already clear.

I have posted a set of exercices "trial exam" which may be handed in, and which we will discuss wednesday 7 Dec.

The second part (part B) of the project work, which deals with semantic role labeling, is now available. The deadline is November 18th.

Tomorrow's lecture is cancelled due to illness.

I have made a small but important change in the assignment text regarding the extra parser settings, which should be: - d POSTAG -s Stack[0] -T 100, i.e. use the POSTAG-column and the top of the stack (Stack[0]).

The first part (part A) of the project work, which deals with data-driven dependency parsing, is now available. The deadline is October 28th and this week's group will be dedicated to general experimental methodology and some details regarding this assignment.

I have had some problems with the web page. The most important information is now to be find under the link detailed teaching plan.

For they who like to use the rainful summer for something meaningful: We will basically assume familarity with chapters 1, 3 and (most of) 4 from Manning&Schützes (MS) book.

We will start the term with a crashs course in probability theory, MS ch. 2. Nivre's web course sec.1-3 is also useful.

We will then proceed with chapters 5&6 in MS.
