Group 2 (spring 2026): Ring Smarthome Cameras. This project investigates the societal implications of Ring doorbell cameras, evaluating the tension between localized home security and mass public surveillance. The project details the data lifecycle of the technology, exploring how AI-driven edge devices automatically and continuously log video, audio, and metadata belonging to both paying users and unconsenting non-users (such as delivery drivers, neighbors and passersby).
Student projects
Group 1 (spring 2026): Hyre (Car Sharing App). This project analyzes the digital transformation of urban mobility through a case study of Hyre, a 100% app-based car rental service.
