In exercise 3, point b, due to a typo in my LaTeX code the "^2" are missing. Therefore, in both the equation and the line under the equation all quantities have a square.

So:

- in the equation, \int_a^b f''(t) dt should be \int_a^b f''(t)^2 dt;

- in the first line under the equation it should be \int_a^b g''(t)^2 dt \leq \int_a^b \tilde{g}''(t)^2 dt

In general, the following guidelines apply in courses at the Department of Mathematics:
- The examination lasts 4 hours. In addition, you will have an extra 30 minutes to scan and upload your PDF.
- All examination aids are allowed (e.g. books, online resources, scientific programming tools, etc.).
- It is not allowed to collaborate or communicate with others during the exam about the assignments.

- You can be picked out for a meeting to check that you understand the content of your examination attempt. The meeting will not affect your grade, but it can result in a formal investigation into possible cheating. Read more about what is considered cheating on the UiO web pages: https://www.uio.no/english/about/regulations/studies/studies-examinations/routines-cheating.html

In addition to the final exam (that is common to STK-IN4300), PhD students are required to hold a presentation on a topic related to the course. It can be something from their own research project or the content of a suitable research paper.

The presentations must be given on Wednesday, November 24th, in the usual lecture time (14:15-16:00), and last around 20 minutes.

Please provide me with the title of the presentation within November 17th. If you are going to use slides, please send them to me by e-mail (at least two hours) before the beginning of the lecture.

Since some of you asked for, from next week there will be an extra hour on Monday after the regular exercise class (i.e., 13:00 - 13:45). It will be in the same room (VB Auditorium 1).

This hour will be totally optional, so there will not be any new material. We will discuss aspects that are not totally clear from the lectures or see more into details code and exercises.
