Welcome to STK 4021 /9021 Fall of 2026

The course will be lectured using a preliminary version of the book 
Statistical Inference:
600 Exercises, 100 Stories, and Solutions
by Nils Lid Hjort and Emil Aas Stoltenberg.

An updated version will be published in July, (promised by Nils).
The versions used last year are here (part 1, part 2), if you would like to have a look.
The syllabus will contain sub-selections from
chapter 1,3,5,7,9 and 14.  (part 1), supporting articles
+ exercises 

There will be one compulsory/mandatory  assignment to be handed in in October. 
The mandatory assignment in this course must be approved, 
in the same semester, 
before you are allowed to take the final examination.
