BIO4520 – Methods and Mechanisms in Toxicology

BIO4520 was given for the last time spring 2007.

The course will communicate state of the art knowledge of methods and mechanisms in toxicology and ecotoxicology, including physiological, cellular, biochemical and molecular mechanisms, toxicokinetics, biotransformation and toxicity testing.

Learning outcome

The course will provide scientifically updated knowledge on methods and mechanisms in toxicology and ecotoxiclogy. The course constitutes a compulsory part of the MSc-programme in Toxicology and can be used as part of the theoretical requirement to be EUROTOX-registered toxicologist.

BIO4500 – General Toxicology or similar

Teaching

Access to teaching

A student who has completed compulsory instruction and coursework and has had these approved, is not entitled to repeat that instruction and coursework. A student who has been admitted to a course, but who has not completed compulsory instruction and coursework or had these approved, is entitled to repeat that instruction and coursework, depending on available capacity.

Examination

PhD. students need to registrer to BIO9520.


Course participants will be evaluated according to the lecture given by each student, a report on the same subject and a 3-hr final exam. The exam will be held mid-April.

Language of examination

You may submit your response in Norwegian, Swedish, Danish or English. If you would prefer to have the exam text in English, you may apply to the course administrators.

Grades are awarded on a scale from A to F, where A is the best grade and F is a fail. Read more about the grading system.
