Course content

This course provides an introduction into contemporary entrepreneurship research.

Learning outcome

The candidate is able to write a research paper within the domain of entrepreneurship.

The candidate is skilled with regard to evaluating previous work within this research domain.

The candidate has acquired elementary research competency within the domain of entrepreneurship.

Admission to the course

PhD candidates from the University of Oslo should apply for classes and register for examinations through Studentweb.

If a course has limited intake capacity, priority will be given to PhD candidates who follow an individual education plan where this particular course is included. Some national researchers’ schools may have specific rules for ranking applicants for courses with limited intake capacity.

PhD candidates who have been admitted to another higher education institution must apply for a position as a visiting student within a given deadline.

Formal prerequisite knowledge

No obligatory prerequisites beyond the minimum requirements for entrance to higher education in Norway.

Overlapping courses

Teaching

The course is lecture and seminar based, and runs over three full days. The lectures will consist of lecturing from the professor and discussion in class.

It is expected that the students present several research articles.

All lectures are mandatory.

Examination

The course is assessed through participation since all lectures are mandatory and a research paper (100%).

Language of examination

The exam will be written in English.

Grading scale
